Dataset not showing Event on Facebook after Importing from theAlita

Some users encounter a situation where importing Audience from theAlita to Facebook Ads is successful but the custom event does not appear in Facebook Business Manager, even after a second attempt.

Step 1: Access integration management

  • Go to the Dataset you want to import data into.

  • Select "Manage Integrations."

This is where you can manually add a CSV file as a sample event (event trigger) to prompt Facebook's system to record data.

Step 2: Add new integration

  • Select "Add new integration."

  • Choose "Upload .CSV file."

📁 Suggested test file:

  • You can use:

  • Test file version 2 from theAlita

  • Or Facebook Meta's sample CSV file.

📝 Tips:

  • The data in the file doesn't need to be extensive (only 5–10 rows).

  • It must be in the correct format and actual data for Meta to map and approve it.

  • Tag the event correctly with Meta's Conversion Event, e.g., "Lead."

Step 3: Wait for Facebook to process

  • After uploading the file, wait about 15 minutes for Facebook to initialize the custom event in your BM.

Step 4: Return to theAlita and Re-import

  • Once the system has received the custom event.

  • Go back to theAlita and proceed to Import Audience into the Facebook Dataset following the same previous process.

8️⃣Upload Audience to Facebook Ads (Import Dataset)

💡 Additional Tips:

  • You only need to perform this "test file" operation 1-2 times for empty Datasets (not pixels or events with new links).

  • Upload the test CSV after 7 days if importing an audience from theAlita does not display the event.

  • It's advisable to import audiences daily to keep the dataset active.

  • Avoid importing too many audiences at once to prevent difficulties in troubleshooting when needed.
